What to Expect
How We Worship
- Worship is at the core of our humanity. We’ve been created to “glorify God and to enjoy Him forever,” and it’s with that in mind that we gather for corporate worship each Sunday morning.
- At Providence, we value thoughtful, reverent worship that’s steeped in God’s Word and prayer. We sing both traditional and more modern hymns, recite the creeds and confessions of our faith (see our FAQ to understand why), preach through entire books of the Bible, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper every first Sunday of the month.
- We love for families to be able to worship together! Children are invited and encouraged to stay in the worship service with their parent or guardian. We do have a nursery for younger children who find it difficult to sit through the service, so please notify one of our ushers if this is needed. A Quiet Room (with a window and audio provided) in is available in the back of the sanctuary as an option for parents with small children.
- The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. God invites his people to join together in the elements. The bread and the drink represent the body and blood of Jesus, who was sacrificed for us and for our salvation. At the table, God feeds his people to strengthen their faith, reminds them of their hope, and to spurs them on to love and good works.
